Starehe Children's Home

and Youth Development Centre

A home for orphaned, abandoned and HIV positive children

Starehe Children’s Home is operated by a Director's Committee which includes Ronald & LouDell Posein and Trent & Rhonda Lipinski.

We have been missionaries with The Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada since 1973

The Home is located in Mwanza, Tanzania

The ‘home’ is operated on a non-denominational and non-sectarian basis.

All children are received at the ‘home’ through the Tanzania Social Services Department.

It is the only orphanage in a huge area which accepts babies – even from one day old.

(reason - babies are very expensive to look after. They have to be cared for

24 hours a day, 7 days a week, often when they come they are very sick so

need a lot of medical attention as well - some times for years)

We strive to adhere to 7 basic principles in caring for orphans

01. Instill Godly values and principles

02. Love each child and appreciate him/her as being unique

03. Provide a secure living environment devoid of fear and apprehension

04. Provide a nutritious menu

05. Assess each child's academic ability and enroll him/her in a school where

they will succeed while being challenged to a higher level.

06. Immediate health care is given by professional personnel.

07. Through positive re-inforcement we prepare each child for becoming a

stable, productive citizen of Tanzania who will, in the future,  help others less

      fortunate.

 This will enhance your posture!
